Philomena Holdforth
Principal Psychologist
Philomena is a dynamic psychologist with over 20 years experience. She has had a diverse career, from working as a School Psychologist in NSW and the NT, to working with the Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation team in Cairns.
Her areas of expertise are in Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism, Child-Parent communication skills, school advocacy and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. Philomena also provides couples therapy, with a particular interest in working with couples where one or both partners and neuro-divergent, and with older couples.
Philomena has two “real” children and two fur children. She’s not sure which ones she prefers more!
Alexandra (Alex) Nixey
Provisional Psychologist
Alex is a warm and empathetic Provisional Psychologist and a previous school counsellor. She has experience delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed and neuro-affirming counselling and assessment across education and community settings. She has a special interest in supporting neurodivergent girls, women and LGBTIQ+ individuals with identity-affirming counselling and assessment. She also provides kink-friendly relationship therapy to couples and those in non-traditional relationships, with a special focus on relationships where one or more partners are neurodivergent.
Alex is an avid animal lover, having started her academic pursuits with a Bachelor of Science and a double biology major, sliding down mountains and catching a variety of native Aussie animals. She has a particular fondness for dogs and a love of snorkelling.
